What is a Worship lifestyle?

What a week!! It is the week that we celebrate the passion and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. So far we have celebrated Palm Sunday, had our Easter Cantata (Soulful celebration of Worship) and tonight (Wednesday)  we are celebrating with our Kingdom Outfiiters kids with a special night of celebration.  Tomorrow we have our Maundy Thursday Service and Friday we have two Good Friday services in the community to participate in and then on Sunday morning we celebrate the Resurrection.  Man! as I said, what a week of worship.  But it ocurred to me that this is not our ordinary fanfare in the Church.  So how do we worship God apart from Christmas and Easter?  How do we worship God apart from Sunday?

Since I read the book, "The Dangerous Act of Worship" by Mark Labberton, I have been haunted with the question, "what does it mean to have a lifestyle of worship?"

I have a few thoughts that I will be sharing but I would sure like to hear some of yours.  In the lower right hand corner of this flog is a comment link.  I would sure love to hear your comment on this question.  How do you live a lifestyle of worship to God?

Worship with the daily stuff

Hey guys,

I hope your having a fantastic week.  The Ferren Clan is in St Louis for a couple days this week celebrating spring break with the kids.  I think this is the first time we have ever done anything with them like this on spring break.  We usually just let the kids hang out at the house all week.  Of course by the end of the week they are stir crazy and Alyson and I are just plain crazy.  So here we are doing the family thing.   We are having a good time except for Noah and Emma still restling a bit with this 5 day virus they have.  However, they are at the tail end of it and feeling a bit better.

This past Sunday, I finished up a series of messages on the "Dangerous act of Worship".  The central point of the series was that, worship is a lifestyle of loving God with our whole heart, mind, soul, and strength.  So obviously, I was walking around the St Louis Zoo yesterday, trying to do just that.  Man, it is interesting when You set your sights on loving God through the daily stuff.  You start seeing people, things, and experiences in a different light.  It also calls your attitude and behavior into check.

Now that you think of it, it is kind of odd that setting our sights on Loving God with all that we are would be a refreshing experience when we should have been doing it all along.  In fact finding ways to Love God and Love others should have been my daily routine and not a new thing that changes my outlook on things.  So that tells me that I must make it a key part of my daily activities.

Here is the challenge for you this week, make an all out effort each day to Love God and love others as your primary mode of doing things.  What does this look like and how do we do it?  What have you noticed that is different?  What have you been missing out on?  What other observations have you made?

I would love to hear from you, post a reply.
